• The superior physical characteristics of Insul-Tarp and its high R-value make it an ideal product for insulating under a concrete slab on residential, commercial, and agricultural projects.
• Insul-Tarp controls all three modes of heat transfer: conduction, convection, and radiation. It reflects up to 97% of the heat energy radiating downward.
• Insul-Tarp is manufactured with closed cell foam sandwiched between high density 5x5 woven rip-stop poly. The poly is white on the top for reflection and black on the bottom for absorption of earth heat. It has an aluminum reflective coating on the inside of each poly surface, which makes it non-permeable and resistant to mildew and fungi. It is extremely durable and the thermal performance will not degrade over time.
• Insul-Tarp provides an excellent vapor barrier because of its non-permeability as well as a highly effective radon gas barrier.
• Insul-Tarp installs in 1/4 of the time compared to foam insulation. It is lightweight, cuts and staples easily. Grommets installed along the outer edge provide anchor locations.
• Insul-Tarp is typically overlapped at the edge seam which gives you a coverage width of 5'9". Please use this to calculate the number of rolls needed.
